\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOne brisk morning in Washington, Jay discovered a prayer service at a nearby Korean church. This vibrant\ntime of prayer was unlike any other \u2014 the gathered believers spent the entire hour fervently crying out to God together. As the service drew to a close, Jay found the pastor and asked, \u201cDo you do this every\nmorning?\u201d The pastor looked surprised and said, \u201cOh, no! On Sundays we worship.\u201d\n

\nWhy do we lack this passion for prayer? Sometimes we feel too exhausted to pray, or we might only pray a\nfew desperate sentences when we feel overwhelmed. God wants us to cry out to Him in those times, but if you\u2019re limiting your prayer life to desperate circumstances, you\u2019re missing out on the true richness of prayer.

Discipleship<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIt all started with red beans and rice.

\n\nFor decades, Jay and Jerilyn have welcomed friends into their home every Monday for a classic New Orleans dinner of red beans and rice and a time of prayer. From there, Jay\u2019s ministry has evolved and expanded, but that commitment to fellowship remains a staple in their discipleship method.

\n\nWhether you\u2019re a seasoned believer, a minister, or a brand new Christian, God uses others in the Body of\nChrist to encourage you in your walk with God. No matter your maturity, we need one another. A powerful way to grow spiritually is through meeting one-on-one or with a small group of believers who can \u201cstir you\nup to love and good works\u201d (Hebrews 10:24).
