Hello friend,
As I update you on my ministry and our life, I thank God for your friendship and encouragement.
We live in a great time to brag about Jesus and testify of His work. I pray that you are well and praying Matthew 5:16 over you:
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Thank you for your love and support during the passing of Jerilyn’s mom and dad. Within eight days of each other, Jerilyn’s dad passed away, and then her mom.
You may recall that Jerilyn’s mom suffered a stroke in July 2020 and could not care for herself. Jerilyn’s dad took care of her for the first six months but was unable to continue with the care, so she was admitted to a nursing facility where she received loving care.
The facility was about fifteen miles from their home, which allowed Jerilyn’s dad to visit her regularly. Jerilyn’s brother lived nearby, so he was able to check on their mom and dad, and we often visited them.
Jerilyn’s dad had various health issues, and while unexpected, his health quickly declined following a fall he took at home. He served as pastor of the Midway Baptist Church in Vardaman, MS, until he resigned on April 30.
He retired twenty years earlier from pastoring full-time. During his retirement, he pastored Colony View in Cookeville, TN, and the Midway Baptist Church in Vardaman, MS.
We will have a Memorial Service for Bro. Al and Jeannie Gaspard at 10:00 am on July 8 at First Baptist Church Houston, MS, where he pastored for 16 years. Before that, he pastored full-time in Louisiana, beginning at the age of twenty-three. I will officiate part of the service, so I appreciate your ongoing prayer coverage.
Ministry Updates
As we walk through this season, the Lord has also opened doors for me to minister to families, equip a couple of pastors, continue ongoing discipleship with some men, and lead prayer meetings.
I am excited about the monthly prayer meeting in Baton Rouge, where we welcome people from across Louisiana on the 1st Tuesday of every month for worship and prayer. We gather at 6:30 pm for coffee and fellowship and begin worship at 7:00 pm. Service ends at about 8:45 pm. The address is 10925 Florida Blvd Baton Rouge, LA. I invite you to join me as we pray for churches, families, businesses, education, and government.
If you are traveling to Washington, DC, and will be in town on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, I invite you to join me for a prayer meeting that begins at 7:30 am and concludes at about 1:00 pm—or plan a trip to come and pray. Please get in touch with me for additional details.
I am committed to prayer and invite you to join me in person or on one of the weekly prayer calls I lead. If you cannot stay on for the full call, you can join for whatever time you have to pray. If you are unfamiliar with our prayer calls, you can be as active as you desire or listen and pray silently. I will never put you on the spot, so feel free to join in this week.

In addition to prayer efforts, I continue to serve the Louisiana State Police as a Chaplain and as a resource to families needing spiritual direction. I get to meet some wonderful families in a time of need to love and encourage them. I also connect them to area churches where they can build relationships with God and other church members.
Thank you so much for your love and friendship. Your financial support is a blessing as your gifts allow me to secure resources to evangelize, disciple, and minister to individuals and families.
May the Lord bless you and your family. I love you and thank you for supporting the work.
With a Grateful Heart,
Pastor Jay
