The Faithfulness of God

Hello friend,

We have twin boys!

Davy and Remy were born on September 9, 2022 to Jody and Olivia. We praise the Lord for Liv’s good health throughout the pregnancy and during the birth of the twins. Thank you for praying for them.

The Faithfulness of God

September has been a blessing for opportunities to minister and pray. I am excited to see how God works and calls His people to Him.

I am thankful for quality time in God’s Word and the Holy Spirit’s instruction. Before I share more ministry updates, I want to share a word of encouragement. Let’s read about the faithfulness of God:

I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.

He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.

Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust,
And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Psalm 40:1-4

Let me share a brief outline of the truths in this passage:

  1. God hears our cry.
  2. God brings us out of a horrible pit.
  3. God puts a new song in our mouths.
  4. God is faithful to those who trust him.

Verse 4 shows us that God desires our trust in Him—our faith in Him. Take a moment to count your blessings and see firsthand the faithfulness of God.

May we learn to wait upon the Lord and experience His Goodness.

Heavenly Father,

We declare that our trust is in You.
We will wait upon You as you work in and through our lives.

In Jesus’ Name.
Amen.

Ministry Updates

Being a Watchman for God

I had the opportunity to gather in Atlanta, Georgia, to pray with other Intercessors for two and a half days. I also had the privilege to be in Philadelphia to pray with the National Day of Prayer Leaders.

One can quickly point to one city or another and say “yes, they need prayer,” but every city, town, and community needs prayer.

I urge you to be a watchman for where you live. We read in Jeremiah 29:7, “seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace, you will have peace.”

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you need help or ideas on being a prayer leader where you live.

I encourage you not to miss an opportunity to pray with those that serve you. The Lord opens doors for us that sometimes we choose not to walk through—like praying for the person that cuts your hair, the attendant at the gas station, or the person serving you at a restaurant.

I was at lunch with a friend a few days ago and told the waitress we were going to pray, and asked if there was anything we could for pray for her today. Tears began to swell in the young lady’s eyes and she said,  “this is a new job for me, and I am a single mom with an 18-month-old baby, and things are a little chaotic, so yes, pray for me.” We took time right then to pray for her and, through the course of our meal, had additional conversations with her. Jerilyn and I are following up with her to see how we can assist her, and we will also help get her connected to a church that can love and encourage her and her 18-month-old.

Friends, we never know what people are going through so let you and I be the watchman that God sends to tell His story. Pray and take action to see others come to Jesus.

Prayer Ministry Updates

As the National Prayer Director for the Family Research Council, I am grateful for the opportunity to gather and pray with others in Washington, DC. I lead a prayer meeting on the second Tuesday of every month and welcome you to join me in DC to pray.

I also lead three prayer calls every week, as well as being a guest on or joining other prayer calls. Below is a schedule of the calls. I invite you to join me for one (or all) of them!

Saturday Prayer Call
The Saturday Prayer Call at 7:30 am EST focuses on the seven mountains of prayer and providing ministry time for intercessors.

Monday Prayer Call
The Monday Prayer Call at 11:00 am EST focuses on praying for the family. I hope you can join us every Monday to pray for the family and invite others to join us for prayer.

Tuesday Prayer Call
The Tuesday Prayer Call at 1:00 pm EST focuses on praying for the US Government and Elections. We will pray for all government leaders, elections and other needs as the Holy Spirit reveals those things to us.

I welcome you to join me on any of these calls. You can text me at 615-260-4752 to receive the call-in number and code to join the prayer line. You can also text me your request, and I will join you in praying for the need before you.

I am grateful for the opportunities the Lord gives me to lead prayer meetings, preach or teach. I am also thankful for God’s favor as I continue to serve as a volunteer chaplain with the Louisiana State Police. When you see a law enforcement vehicle speak a prayer of blessing and protection over them.

Please reach out if your church, Bible study group, or friends are coming together for fellowship and would be interested in learning more about prayer. I would love to connect and see how God might use me to equip and encourage people to be involved in ongoing prayer ministry.

If you know of churches looking to start discipleship or recovery ministries and need someone to equip them, please feel free to share my information.

Thank You

Thank you for your continued prayer and support for my ongoing work and ministry. If you ever want to take time for coffee or a meal, give me a call or text me. I would love to share in person what God is doing in my life, work, and ministry.

With a Grateful Heart,

Pastor Jay
